Notes from the Underground: Goat Soup
After my visit to the People's Arcade, I was dropped off at the venue for Charlie Chemist's show and spent most of the day hanging out there, watching and documenting the preparations take place. This was quite interesting and included bringing in the sound system equipment, stocking up on chicken, fish, drinks and of course, making traditional Jamaican "Goat Soup". A pretty dirty and graphic procedure, as you can see on the following video...

thats disgusting! like imagine all the stuff in that goats nose!! and your eating all that in your soup. Also imagine the teeth, would you kiss a goat? eat it's gums? exactly! some poormans tradition from some hard times way bak. i remember having soup in kingston and a chickens foot with claws came floating to the top of the cup!!never again will i have soup in Jamaica.lol. each to their own.

Tell me about it! And that was my first day on the island. And before I went there I hadn't eaten chicken in years...but I had to stop that practice, as everything is chicken in Jamaica! But I never got into the goat soup, I wonder why...
